How do you know if you would benefit from a medication like Vytorin?
One of the best ways for you to know if you would benefit from using this drug is to first find out just how much of a risk you’re at for serious heart problems due to cholesterol. Everyone has a degree of risk, but there are some people who have a higher risk than others. Heart attacks and stroke have the potential to be fatal. If not this, then they can be severe enough to cause you to have to be put on other medications as a result. You don’t want this.
After you’ve found out whether or not your cholesterol level is high enough, then you have to find out if non medicational approaches can help you better in the short term. Exercise and changes to your diet can certainly help, but they might not help you fast enough or you might be at a higher risk because of family history. A drug such as Vytorin is good at getting your cholesterol to where it needs to be in a short period of time as long as you make simple changes to your lifestyle.
The last thing you need to look at is past effort to reduce cholesterol. Did you diet in the past or change your diet? How well did these work by themselves in order to get your cholesterol to where it needed to be or keep it there? If they didn’t work nearly as well as they were supposed to, then this drug might be perfect to help you get there. Are there other options on the market? Sure there are, but this medication is very effective and known to get the results needed.
All you would need is to make sure you follow a doctors orders and get your cholesterol checked out periodically in order to make sure the drug is working.
